The Ride: Welcome to my blog...

The blog's namesake comes from the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip by Bill Watterson. Often, Calvin and Hobbes will board a wagon or, weather permitting, a sled and plummet down steep hillsides. They converse about the realities of existence as they make their physical and metaphorical journey. In this blog I intend to do the same thing: to wade through the crap and address the truth in life. Nothing is off limits here; from entertainment to news to anything else I want to talk about. You can't be still on a moving toboggan. The ride might be scary at times but keep those eyes open and you'll be surprised what you see.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I do writing it!

NBA Finals: Game 5

Dirk and Lebron square off again tonight in Dallas to see who can take a commanding 3-2 lead going back to Miami. I work tonight so I feel fortunate that I won't be subjected to watching the arrogance and self-entitled crap oozing from the Heat's so-called "Big 3." Their off-court interview "humble" attitudes are so transparent it's just stupid. what's even more ridiculous is that so many people buy into it. The tv analysts are the worst about it too. No way Lebron is the best player in the world, not to mention ever. no way. that guy gets away with so much it's mind-boggling. He must travel every other time he touches the ball and watching him awkwardly move around and dribble-- i've seen grizzly bears with more coordination. And when it comes down to it that's what he is: a grizzly bear who plays basketball. sure you can teach him a trick like shooting but when it comes to the game, he has very few basic fundamentals down. He is so large and athletic that he relies solely on that to succeed. and what sucks is that it usually works. but him as a basketball player, i'm not that impressed. Michael Jordan worked hard to become the greatest of all time. yes, he had natural athletic ability but he achieved his potential. Lebron has great potential. He simply doesnt have the will. Maybe he did, some time ago. But it seems that once he went all hollywood he stopped caring about the game and now it's all about Lebron, which is so typical of today's players. That's why when people see a player like Derrick Rose, who works hard and loves the game and plays with character and integrity; it's refreshing. That's why Rose is an MVP and Lebron is just HTW: Hard To Watch. Lebron needs to stop with the crying after every play, stop with the flopping and the cheap shots and learn how to play the game. Everything about Lebron is what's wrong with the NBA.
